I never start "discussions", cos somehow, why.... I dunno know why, I prefer blogs.
Maybe I don't want to be bombarded with trivial inane statements enveloping my inbox (when I'm away from a PC for 3 days on the trot), but recently I saw a discussion pop up, and as there was nothing going on in GZ, that is the Stuff.....I wasted 5 mins of my life and took a read of it.
It was a discussion about "What do Chinese girls look for in foreign men?"
Now.....I've seen these kinda discussions before, shit loads of them, and I've even been consumed by them....but inevitably I've got bored of them, cos nobody has a real idea/iota of what the exact/definite answer is. Who TF knows?
But it got me thinking......
Recently, 2 foreign female friends asked me "What is it about Chinese Girls that you love so much?"
I told them the obvious and the other reasons like......their beauty, their smooth skin, their eyes, their lips, their hair, their smiles, their caring nature, their beautiful bodies (in general), etc etc..... and these girls wondered what the difference was between "them" and "them".
I was kinda stumped for an answer, just like when a kid asks you "why is the sky blue and the grass green?"
It's cos it IS, isn't it!
I know there's plenty of us out there infected with the same Yellow Fever virus.....so lads....... how do we explain it in a nutshell?
Keep it short and sweet if ya can.....

Comment by Seán on July 27, 2012 at 9:04am Absolutely Agnes, "each to their own" for sure.
I've just got a bad dose of Yellow Fever......I've Googled and Baidu'd the hell out of it and can still find no known cure.
I do know a few foreigners here who will absolutely never date Chinese girls, cos they like a bit more meat on the bone, but as there seems to be a glaring imbalance of foreign girls to foreign males here, they inevitably end up "dating" foreign hookers or become expert connoisseurs in the art of the "hand shandy" to numb the loneliness.
Comment by isil on July 25, 2012 at 6:54pm @Panda You are probably right about this being a cultural thing. Although I don't think I will be fondling anyone, -ladies in particular any time soon! I have had always issues with both touching and being touched by people. I have made some serious progress since childhood but still have the traces of a mild case of Asperger's... So it's only "natural" that I got freaked out on the spot.
Comment by Smee 瑞纳多 on July 25, 2012 at 2:19pm @ Panda - Yeah the damn Christian fundamentalists are screwing things up here too. Introducing guilt to the culture, guilt for being born, guilt for having sex, etc. It is a pity. The pox on them.
The superstitions you can deal with and even use them to your advantage. You may offer an "amulet" or maybe a "ritual" to deal with it...
@Sean - The best behavior is that long spit, that gathers stuff from the bottom of their insides, and comes out and hangs to whatever it hits. Most found in those Sichuan girls that you were eyeing up to that terrible moment.
Comment by KēYánRénYuán on July 25, 2012 at 2:10pm @Sean. Starbucks on Fridays? No. I go there on weekends instead.
Comment by Seán on July 25, 2012 at 1:56pm @Smee, don't worry....I was raised a good Catholic boy in Ireland, so I've enough religious baggage for both of us :-p
@Roddin, how about the way some of them pick their noses? (when they're older of course)
@Tom, I think personality has a lot more to do with an individual and the way they were raised, rather than a culture.
@KēYánRénYuán, speaking of Credit Cards, have ya ever been to any Starbucks here on a Friday? Fucking nightmare it is. They do some "buy 1/get 1 free" if ya use your plastic. They be line's out the mofo'ing door.
P.S. Yer mano bored the shit out of me. Didn't watch it fully.
@Stinky, I tend to disagree with ya about the touchy-feely thing. Sure, you see girls holding hands with girls and guys with their arms around guys, but ask any Chinese person how many times they've actually "hugged" their parents and the results are very surprising.
Comment by Stinky Panda on July 25, 2012 at 11:50am @Isil,
Just sounds like normal Chinese behavior to me, they are more touchy than western people are used to I really doubt she meant anything with it.
Heck I’ve also had Chinese friends putting arms around me – and pretty much not letting go for the entire drinking session at the local BBQ. Initial reaction is ‘WTF keep your hands to yourself!’, but you see it happening around you as well and you realize it is just part of the culture and you accept it and even start doing this to other Chinese friends.
So go ahead and fondle them Chinese lady-friends Isil! All in the spirit of making friends and immersing yourself in Chinese culture!
Comment by isil on July 25, 2012 at 11:41am Geez Sean, no! I felt violated.
Comment by Stinky Panda on July 25, 2012 at 11:14am @Smee,
Try dating a Korean girl and let me know how that non-existence of religious baggage thing turned out.
And what about all the superstitions that persist in Asia? Cannot do this, cannot share a pear, cannot call your kid whatever you want, cannot get married until they get the day right, etc, etc.
Comment by KēYánRénYuán on July 25, 2012 at 10:24am This might answer your question Sean m'lad.
