The story is told of Steve Jobs entering a conference room and somebody starting some

small talk about the weekend and he replying,
 “Can we raise the tone of conversation

here?” Out of many eyeballs out there on the web there are those who assume what

you do is for show. Those following and quietly studying 
blogs like this, 
that, and

that one who don't wake up scanning the web for negativity to latch on to and

even, catastrophize; those who assume content online 
is all about/for them.

But the truth of the matter is that around the globe any 
given day, there's

a deeper and actionable conversation ongoing devoid of the inauthentic

&
 validation-dependent
 communication and mindset so rife. And after

nearly 15years of blogging, I've found there're many Vivi(s). Viviana

was only 16 years old when she creatively used a Java chat room

applet to get my attention. I was in a computer lab in college

minding my business. And writing from Uruguay long before

Facebook, Ning, Twitter or Skype, this beautiful girl or

Luna Azul
 ('bluemoon'), as she called herself, was on

a mission. Purpose-driven, she was reaching out for

positive ideas, values, meaning and keys that'd

unlock her full potential as a human being. She

was also convinced she wasn't the sum total

of her circumstances, stuck in Montevideo.

She wanted me to both be a friend and

mentor right then and there. And her

retort was swift and punchy when I

chickened out.
 “What? So you 
re-

ject
 me because I'm 16??” True.

That was my initial impulse.

But 
outliers don't take NO

for an answer. For them,

it's all about progression

and making deposits

into a development

bank account that

only makes them

ever more se-

cure within

their skins.
