The above quote by Deepak Chokra perfectly captures our deep sense of gratitude today and how, as we remain open in a state of thankfulness, we also leave ourselves open to appreciating and harnessing our world's ability to awaken the power, wisdom and creativity within us. Bring it, Guangzhou...we're ready for the week!

Over the weekend, we had woken up one mercurial morning, sunshine alternating with intermittent pockets of light drizzles. It had been a tempestuous evening before, late night news of a massive earthquake hitting our home country coupled with an irritable husband exhausted from too many late nights at work this week, had rattled our nerves. Perhaps the full blue moon was playing mischievous tricks? In any case, none of these had made for restful slumber. At first, we didn't know whether we should open our windows and start brewing the coffee to welcome a brand new day or just shut the drapes and burrow under the covers for the rest of the entire weekend.

Turns out we had no need to brood, thankfully. Herr Hubby woke us up with a soft kiss and a cup of brewed coffee for us already in his hand. And, as we got out of bed, we were greeted by the sight of our assortment of balcony plants, sitting placidly amidst sunshine or rain. It hit us that no matter what the weather, our plants were content to soak up whatever nature had to offer and still, they blossomed in their lushness.

What a simple, pure way with which to be reminded of the many blessings we have in our life. Have a wonderful week ahead, everyone!
