Researchers from Edinburgh University and Bristol University have, for the first time, made thousands of millions of red blood cells from stem cells taken from bone marrow, the Daily Mail of London reported. Artificial blood produced from stem cells could get to clinical trials in 2-3 years and be in routine general practice within the next decade, the researchers claim.
