Tokyo Akihabara killing spree that killed 7 and injured 10 others....and I was in the middle of it

Posted on June 12, 2008 at 10:55am 6 Comments

Before I start I want to say how much I hate blogs and I have never written one before. And I might never write one again. But this is by far the most blog-worthy experience I've ever had.

If you ever look at the news, you have probably read about the killing spree that happened in Tokyo on June 8th. A crazed man decided that he wanted to kill people....anyone and as many as possible. He rented a moving truck and drove it into a crowd of people crossing a busy street in a very busy… Continue

Thank you Chris for sharing your experience and expertise reg rock climbing in GZ. I really do appreciated it!
Don't mean to be demanding, but I still would like to find out a bit more.
How's the safety standard in Olympic wall or Wushan wall? Are there supervisors around? Do they help the kids to prepare everything before they climb?
What equipments do the kids need to bring with them? Or the equipments are all supplied there?
Your don't happen to know the official website of the Olympic wall, do you?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Best, Grace

Hi Chris, I am glad that I found the rock climbers page you have created.
I'd love to know more about that, eg. The facility of rock climbing in gz, safety level of this sport in gz.
The reason I am asking is that, the summer vacation is not far away. I'd like my cousins involved in some sport activities during the vacation instead of sticking on computer games!
I'd really appreciate your reply.
Best, grace

Hi Chris, I am sorry it is difficult to climb outside in 20hours in Narita. But there are some indoor bouldering gyms near Narita. One is the gym in Funababashi-city which takes 40min. by train and 10 min. by taxi from Narita. And the other one is near Kashiwa station which takes 50min. by train and 10min. walk from Narita. Their websites are http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~energy/gym/kashiwa.html  for Kashiwa and  http://www.f-rocky.jp/funabashi/  for Funabashi. If you are intrested in them, please contact me. I can provide you further information.
