Sure Frank, Porters Five Forces are very  useful at any industry. I am not a student, I do foreign trading full time with a company and partly by my own.

i think strategic is not One subject for marketing or sales, but a dynamic mix of everything. really don't know where to start. But one of my learning is to enlarge our bargain power towards all parties. Take supplier bargain power as an example, suppose i have 1Million's order, and the annual output of each factory is 10million, i must place all my orders in one factory only in order to be valued, therefore I got bigger bargain power. To the contrary,if i have 10million order, I tend to place orders to 2-3 factories in order to create competition and get bigger bargain power.

We can also increase our power towards buyers, competitors, newcomers by certain strategic.

We win by negotiating, but the best negotiation is not a single meeting but a long-term deploy...

Maybe Akma can propose one smaller subject so that we could share our ideas specifically.

BTW, Akma, which company are you working with? Or are you student?
