Next Game: Sunday Night 7pm-10pm Aug 12th!
Location: Jiujiang River, Yanjiang xi lu. Just east of Shamian Island. 15 minute walk from Haizhu square station or 10rmb taxi. (in between the bar and the boat launch on the massive wide footpath) It's very smooth there and perfect for skating.
I am starting an inline skates roller hockey League. Street Hockey. I already have 10 westerners who want to play. I can get countless locals to play as I know areas where locals skate by the hundreds and they are good skaters. They would certainly come out to play. Register your interest, give me your phone number and email so I can keep you in the loop. If you have sticks or equipment suppliers, let me know ASAP! Also if you know of good locations to play, let me know.
Since this is new, I am still looking for and ordering Sticks, Nets, Helmets and Masks for Goalies, and Balls. (we wont use a puck)
We will play every Sunday Night once I have the equipment, from 7pm-10pm unless the group decides on a different time.
Also will contact a stick supplier tomorrow but so far only have found expensive sticks.
There is an ice hockey group in town that plays every friday night so we might move the time to thursday night to let some of them in. I will advertise at the Canadian Bar, and all the western bars, and at all the local western groups, couchsurfing, and the Hash group. Anyone who has ideas please let me know.
Probably will be a small fee for each time maybe 10 rmb to help cover costs of gear.
I have found skate rentals for 10 rmb for the night, and can buy used skates for 300 rmb also.
The Brew in Zhujiang new town has offered to sponsor us, so we might relocate soon to their area if there is suitable playing space.

Pretty much the day after I posted this, ice hockey was cancelled. The price of the rink went up too much I guess. Hopefully getting started again in May, but haven't heard anything for almost a month.
