Hi Joe, good to see you on another group. It sounds like you know Baiyun mountain very well. I go rock climbing there about once every week or two and I only know how to get up from the east side and the south entrance....kinda silly when you live on the west. I experimented with hiking down to the west with pretty bad results. It took at least twice as long and when I finally got out of the woods I was in an Air Force base! I shit you not, it was scary. I'm actually looking for the fastest and easiest way up which right now is taking a bus to the south, taking the cable car up and still walking 20 minutes. Close to 2 hours total time and quite expensive.
BTW, I live on JiChang Lu near Wanda Plaza.

That depends on which way you take. The paid area of Mo Xing Ling (star scraping summit) has two separate stairs for access, one on the north and one on the west, each with hundreds of steps, as well as the south access that has a series of small stairs. However, I don't know the exact count, but the north stairs are extremely steep.
