Wow, thanks god I found this! I love cycling and do a lot in Shanghai. I am a newcomer to Guangzhou and I live near Da Fu Montain. Any event to hold here?

I live in Clifford Estates in PanYu, is there anyone in this community or close by that do Saturday or Sunday early morning rides? start at 06;30-07;00,Maybe 3-4 hours.  I am fairly new to bike touring, but can handle a 50-60km ride at the moment. So if there are any groups or person that like early morning rides I would like to join or we could start one.

And mostly we just ride to original natural place,like ZengCheng River,HuiZhou NanKun mountain,LuoFu mountain,we also oganize some 2days-3days trip to go cities far from here,to HeYuan,ChangPing,GuiLin,in far place,we compose ride&travel together,will go by bus,then ride in nice place for travel.

I ride in DongGuan,and we usually make daily riding 150KM-250KM,from cities to cities!

Just want to thank Khalid for an awesome 3-day adventure, riding over 313km from Shao Guan to Guangzhou, passing by Ying De, Cong Hua, & Mao Feng Shan in the process.

 

Met a lot of friendly people, ate a lot of interesting food, drank a lot of booze & smoked an awesome cigar.  What more do you want?

 

This is my first road trip, and I learned a lot about bike touring, and improved (hopefully) on my mountain climbing and endurance.  My saddle sores and legs are still cursing at me.

 

If you want a challenge to test yourself, do yourself a favor.  Take a break from your daily grind and lose yourself in the endless mountains and on the open roads.

Me and Stevo just had a great 3 day ride from Shaoguan to GZ. we mixed up some big roads (to cover distance) and some smaller roads (to see the countryside)

 

I will be heading off for another 3 day trip to a different place on monday

If your free on those dame dates then we can sit down with a map and organise a good trip. I just did an 8 day trip over cny and have done many rides around Guangzhou. The trip to sz is all industrial.

I thought of shaoguan because the route looks very green on google maps

So yea, wr can plan over email. Sleeping in hotels as paying 50 yuan each for a room beats carrying a tent :-)

Yo, Khalid.

I’m always open to riding with fellow cyclists around GZ.  The only thing is, lots of city is pretty dangerous for us bikers, ie. rude taxis and buses who at any moment cuts into the bike lane, & pedestrians with no brains walking in the bike lanes.  Let me see what your normal routes are, and maybe we can partner up one day.

As far as your Shaoguan trip is concerned, I am very interested, as I have been in the mood for a road trip for a while.  Thought about doing a GZ to SZ/HK trip for a few weeks now, but I am still studying the routes.

Why Shanoguan?  I never been there and never ever heard of it.

Are you planning to stay at hotels/motels/hostels there or are you camping it?  Ie tent and sleeping bag?

What are you gonna do about food and water? 

Have you done this route before?  Do you know the way/routes from SG to GZ?

What’s the road like?  Paved?  Gravel?  Dirt?  I’m assuming your bike is a hybrid road bike, with road tires, right?

How many km do you plan to do each day?  How many hours do you plan to do each day?

Trip: shaoguan to Guangzhou

Leave from Guangzhou south station on Sunday evening 10th March
Get back guanghou Wednesday
Around 240 km

Hi I'm doing a trip from shaoguan to Gz next Sunday. I will take the fast train in the evening with my bike (it can go on train if you take wheels off) and cycle 3 days to Gz
If were ahead of schedule wr can take smaller more scenic roads

Anyone interested?
