This is just a quick note highlighting the “HOPE Charity Dinner”, presented by Utahloy International School. This dinner and silent auction will raise funds for the Haiti earthquake relief effort and clean water projects in South East Asia, on Saturday 27th March, starting at 6 pm.

It is a great cause. Details are on our website, so please click here and select the HOPE Charity Dinner tab for more information. Feel free to forward this email onto any of your friends and colleagues who may be interested.

Please note – this event will be held at The Fountains, and we are excited to be support it, but to register, please complete the form below and forward it to Hugo at hdrummond@utahloy.com. If you have any questions, please email Hugo rather than replying to this email.

I work in the biggest shopping mall in GZ. I think I can help you to get an indoor place for this activity.

I have been getting some problems with people on GZS thinking that I'm political. I want to say clearly i am not. I just want to promote the idea and desire to see big benefit shows and shows in general in GZ. it's not just Haiti that needs help.

sorry i made a mistake..
4..production and so on are hard costs. and represent the investment needed by the sponsors and so on..

@wells. 1. I'm not the money man. that should be handled by an appointed accountant or org. that is known and trusted.
2. I'm sorry I cant honestly answer that now, because we all know money goes in places we cant control, but i hope that if enough is raised, allot of it can get to the people in need.
3. I think the project timeline depends more on the ammount of support shown. Obviously the fewer active, teh slower things can happen.
4. Production costs. ticketing and so on are a small proportion of an overall cost compared to the possible income from donations and ticket sales. I think Sponsors may rather invest in the project rather than as you say "donate directly but not know where it went" at least if the sponsor stuff they can get receipts..
5. Red Cross is not the only possible choice, and its not my choice, I'd prefer the group as a whole to decide on who gets the proceeds. And I have already sought their help.

Thanks so much for being active. I appreciate it and I think others will too.

wayno, ok, i think i should comment here rather than only to you on msn.
1. how will you arrange the money?
2. how will you ensure ALL money are send to the needed one?
3. holding an event in stadium need a permit from govenment, of cause need time too, how much time we need?
4. holding an event need a lot of sponsers, for those sponsers, they will think why not sending those money to red cross?
5. still many concern, wayno, i don't know what else people will think, i think posting Red Cross's donation page.

here is the china redcross donation page, you can select Haiti when you send the money: http://60.195.251.18:8081/, but people doubt them as well.
and here is the hongkong redcross, have better reputation i think: https://donation.redcross.org.hk/onlinedonation/user_donation.asp

As i said, if the even go live, i will buy a ticket. :-)

who wants to extend this concept into local aid groups as well. a combined event to benefit locals and Haiti. And the start of an ongoing trend...
