iDriver-Remote your car!

If you think unlocking your car with your iPhone is cool, how about driving your car with an iPhone?
“Spirit of Berlin” is a project of the Artificial Intelligence Group, directed by Prof. Raul Rojas, at Freie Universitaet Berlin. This video shows the projects autonomous car controlled with an iPhone - powered by Appirion, a spin-off of the AI group.
“Team Berlin is our entry to the 2007 Urban Grand Challenge Competition. We are one of the semifinalists selected by DARPA. The core of the team are researchers and students of Freie Universität Berlin working together with our partners from the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft (IAIS), and Rice University in Houston, Texas and the Instituto Politecnico Nacional (Mexico).
“We have been building autonomous robots since 1998. Our group is the two-time world champion and five times European champion in robotic soccer. Our vehicle is up and ready with drive-by-wire technology. Its name is: “Spirit of Berlin”.
We think this is well worth seeing, thanks to gentle reader, Cornelius, for the steer (no pun intended, well, not really)...

Hi Gael. Sadly, I have to keep the system up-to-date since my job has big connection with Apple (Yes, I've signed the NDA). It's just the Parallels thing put me a bit "handicapped".

That's why you shouldn't upgrade a whole OS right away. You should wait a few weeks or at least look for information about software compatibility before installation...

OK. Glad to know it. In my case, only one small problem: Parallels Desktop 6 is not compatible with the new cat. Damn it! Have to wait for 8 to upgrade....

Too late, already upgraded the paid version. It installed without any problem

Little tricks of saving 20 bucks for updating to OS X Mountain Lion (Tried and it works):

For everybody's notice, the GM (Golden Master) version of OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion is actually the same as the retail version of OS X Mountain Lion (Which you need to pay USD$ 20 to get in Mac App Store). Therefore, if you decided to save the 20 bucks for other stuff (Coffee, drinks, meals, etc etc), you can try to search for download and installation (Personal suggestion: http://imzdl.com, torrent file at here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/uyw9v3)

Surely, two things you must do before taking any action: One: Find out if your Mac is compatible with Mountain Lion (Check the page: https://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/); Two: BACKUP EVERYTHING!!! Good luck with the new cat. ;-)

Continuing the saga of the upgrade from 10.4 to 10.5.  I upgraded two computers, one PPC and the other Intel version.  I was having a Finder conflict n the PPC version after the upgrade.  I just noticed that the Intel computer only had one System Folder, a new folder with a little X in the icon, after the upgrade but the PPC still had the / an old System Folder as well as the new System Folder with the little X in the folder icon.  So in the PPC Mac I had two system folders and two Finders. The computer was still using the old Finder version.  So I put the old System Folder in the trash but did not delete and rebooted.  After the reboot there was no Finder conflict or Finder crash.  Looks like this is the fix of the problem and much simpler than some draconian solutions I found in the Apple Support blogs.  As long as removing the old System Folder from the PPC doesn't cause any problems it's 'problem solved'.
