Hi lisa, Thanks so much for your advice. You really didnt have to reply this issue but im very appreciative that you did. Many thanks. I will ask my girlfreind to go with my chinese freind who has a licence to see if they can pick it up. My GF will not say she is related to me, but say my freind is her BF instead and see how they go. Thanks and i owe you a drink sometime in Agile. Clint

Things might become very complicated when you try to deal with the Chinese officers, the point is what do you want to end this matter.

Simplely if you just want the motorbike back, maybe you can have a try my sugguestions. According to many of my colleagues' experiences, it doesn't matter who really has the receipts of the motorbike, the police just cares who will come to legally pay for this illegally running motorbike. Sorry if i express it too directly :-)

Of course the police would like i go to there station to "Talk" to them, however its clearly obvious that they will just twist everything up and make it my fault , no matter what... Its really amazing to me how a driver can stop dead in the middle of a driving lane of a road and cause an accident but somehow chinese police can find some way to make it all the opposite... its incredible to me. Maybe the 7 years ive been in china is 7 years too long. I try everyday to enjoy this country but then everyday someone destroys it.

I didnt stay at the accident scene as my injuries are serious so i went to hospital directly. It just seems to me that because im a foreigner i have no chance anyway. The police will always support the chinese person, not the foreigner despite who is wrong or right. It is sooooo wrong.

Hi Lisa, Yes, i understand what you are saying. The problem is the bike was bought by my girlfreind and the receipt is in her name. She does not have a licence as she does not ride it. It was just easier when we bought it to put it in a chinese name. The police said that because i hit the car from behind its automatically my fault even the guy was stopped in the middle of a driving lane.

Besides, tell the police this motorbike belongs to this Chinese guy who has the driving licence.

Maybe the simple way is like this, you ask a Chinese to get the motorbike who has a motocycle driving licence. Then just pay 200RMB to the police, then high chances, you can get the motorbike back.

This 200rmb is just for a punishment that you don't have a registered number for this motorbike.  Otherwise, things will be very complicated because you have no either driving licence and registered motorbike number even you was only running on the private area.

Strange you should say that Brandon. 3 nights ago a guy just stopped dead in the middle of the road and i hit his car doing 70 kms hour. I was rushed to hospital so i dont know what happened as my wife was the only one that was still there. The issue is the police took my motorbike and i want to try to get it back.

No you don't, but if you get into an accident that might be a problem
