What's up with this crazy weather?

One day it's warm, the next day it's ass freezing cold. We are almost in the middle of March and I have not seen it this cold at this time of the year.for the past five years. Did anyone notice 2 weeks ago when there was so much moisture inside most buildings, like the floors and walls had been hosed, anyone have an explanation for what caused this? It was so damn slippery too.
