Any nice pizzeria to recommend?

Hey guys, I would like to have some pizza with friends during the week, can anyone share any idea about the pizza here in GZ? I mean authentic pizza, not pizzahut type with katchup etc. Thanks a lot!

There is an Italian Restaurant called Oggi's at Linhe Dong Road in Tianhe District. I think it's quite good, a little pricey but still okay. The ambience is also nice. The first time I got inside the restaurant, the only thing that reminded me of Guangzhou are the view outside the arched windows and the waitresses. Their chef and manager are Italian too :)

Oggi's is too expensive and the pizzas are tiny.

If you tell him the Garden Hotel in Mandarin, which sounds like hua yuan zhu dian (sorry for my broken pinyin) you will be very close because Oggi's is two streets west (toward Yue Xiu park, toward the TV towers, and toward the train station) of the Garden Hotel. I think all taxi drivers will be able to recognize even the worst Mandarin pronunciation of the Garden Hotel.

Tomatoes has the best pizza in Guangzhou at a reasonable price. They have locations on Jiansheliumalu near the Garden Hotel and Taojin Road, Huajiulu in Central Zhujiang New Town near The Tavern and a new location that just opened in Liede on Xinguolu near People's Cafe and Hooley's. All Tomatoes restaurants are open 24 hours and will serve and deliver pizza round the clock.

People's also does good pizza. Their two locations are also Jiansheliumalu and Liede's up and coming Xinguolu. Another location will open soon at Party Pier near Suns, The Clock, Zapatas, Wave and One.

Oggi Pizzeria, back a couple side streets off of Jiansheliumalu and not far from The Happy Monk bar, is a little bit pricier but also serves good pizza.

You can also find Zebra Star, up Taojin Road a bit, just before the fork where Taojin East Road splits off from Taojin North Road and across the road from the Trust Mart. Zebra's pizza is delicious and they have some pies with really unique and imaginative topping ensembles.
