this is one point i disagree strongly w/ you on...
people that post discussion topics actually put in an effort to post something and spend time thinking about it and writing it. the real attention whores are people that put meaningless, thoughtless comments on other people's carefully thought out discussion just so they can get their name out there. squares that have nothing real to say but post comments just to post comments.... or people that copy and paste something from the internet on a post. these are the real perps...
besides, chinese/foreigner topics make for interesting, lively discussions. and they have the most comments on them. if we can't discuss these kinds of topics, what is there to discuss?? business? spamming chicks to try and get dates? how beautiful the pearl river is?
i'll say it like this: pick any topic to write a discussion on... like weather.... automatically, shit, i look out the window and i see the hot, humid, grey gloom that is gz... so how the hell do you sugarcoat that???? i guess people could keep their mouths shut, and we all can get along nicely and peacefully.... but in the super-awesome movie matrix, which is a deeply philosophical movie btw, the first matrix failed because they made it a peaceful utopia w/ no negativity, so they had to recreate another matrix with all human conflict and negativity included for it to work... so perhaps some negativity and criticism is essential for a healthy online environment................ by the way, gzstuff is great, you're an awesome mitigator, i love china! so don't ban me please................ -

Really, I don't care what's posted here. It's not my site, it's yours because I don't live in GZ. But I've had a few complaints recently about the content on the forum. Not just from one person. Anyway, I greatly appreciate the feedback.

many people wl NEVER understand LETTERS have POWER. so what shall we do?
Never put anything negative in a letter/forum; deal with it personally.
Letters--and that goes for the e-mail kind, too--can develop a life of their own long after an issue has been resolved. So, only the positive stuff goes into a letter. Problems and criticism should be given personally or over the phone.
it seems many people have NEVER recieved any real positive education. to keep this forum safe. david, u have all ur decisions what to do! -

i have expressed this point in lashon hara, in garbage trucks, many posts, but people wl NEVER understand it. actually david, DONT expect them to understand at all, it's better perhaps! they do what they like, u do what u like as a webmaster! i admire u!
