Triptych--- Voice After

Building on the success of their acclaimed programmes A Trilogy of Modern Dance at the Kennedy Center in the U.S. in 2005 and Awakening in Hong Kong in 2007, three acclaimed modern dance companies led by Willy Tsao – CCDC, Guangdong Modern Dance Company and BeijingDance/LDTX, join forces once again to showcase their latest works.

Voice After is the second part of OTHER SUNS (A Trilogy), the Sino-US cross-cultural collaboration between Guangdong Modern Dance Company and Margaret Jenkins Dance Company.

After premiering in 2009 at San Francisco, OTHER SUNS toured along the East and the West Coasts in the United States, earning critical acclaims. Voice After is the artistic dialogue between Liu Qi and Margaret Jenkins. Coming from distinctive cultural backgrounds, they exchange thoughts and notions with respect to the nature, humanities and societies and present them on the dance stage. Accompanied by music by renowned American composer Paul Dresher, the movements transfer into the silver waves in the ocean, or the flocks of gulls circling in the sky, whispering the lingering tranquility captured in storm surge.
