Event Description

The original Idea Exchange began in Guangzhou in 2013. Each event features one or several guest speakers presenting a topic of their choice, followed by a lively Q&A and Comments section where the audience joins in the discussion and debate. We have so far covered a wide array of topics ranging from happiness, habits and hobbies, health, business, communication and negotiation skills, self-development, to magic even.

The events always bring people together as after a talk there is the chance to chat and network with all other attendees. If you are interested in business or psychology and enjoy meeting like-minded people, the Idea Exchange friends and speakers community is for you.

Please feel free to take a look at photos and reviews from our past events at your leisure, and stay up to date on coming topics by joining one of our Facebook & WeChat groups.

My EMBA Journey

Many of us have considered doing an MBA (Master of Business Administration) to help advance our career, or change career, start our own business, push ourselves to new frontiers or just for the love of learning. Few of us have done it.

We are delighted to welcome back Jeremy Sargent OBE, long-term Guangzhou resident, to share his experience of the MBA. Despite being a busy lawyer, founder of The Happy Monk and Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong, last year Jeremy enrolled on a highly intensive Executive MBA programme run by Columbia University, London Business School and HKU Business School.

Now at the tail-end of the programme, something Jeremy describes as "the biggest challenge so far yet an amazing life-changing experience”, Jeremy will share with us his 18 month journey including:

Reasons to pursue further study in mid-career

Balancing life, travel, work and study

Challenges and the takeaways
