@ Charlie I can assure you that we don't increase the price of our drinks for this promotion. If we tried shenanigans like that we would have been called out a long time ago and would be out of business. Our regular prices drinks are in line with other western style pubs/bars and in many cases cheaper. Hope that clears up your suspicions and you are able to enjoy a tasty brew at The Brew!

In my experience at The Brew, they charge a pretty steep price for a beer (basically the price of two beers), then tell you you're getting one for free.  If someone can prove me wrong on this, I'll definitely be there!  I really enjoy the bar!

Hi Phil,
We try to be very clear with no fine print. I see your point about something like a Long Island being something that is 'mixed' and also a 'drink', but we classify it as a cocktail. As most places do I suppose.
We stick to beers, glasses of wine and the traditional definition of mixed drink such as vodka and orange, rum and coke or my favourite, Canadian Club and ginger ale.
To be honest, the deal has been going since the old Strange Brew days and I'm not sure why we went with that, but it does guard against a problem such as weak cocktails that some places hand out. So really no fine print. Come in and try a Canadian Club and ginger. I'll buy the first round.

Hey, just wondering, is this 2 for 1 thing for every drink, as it seems to be. Reason why I ask is that several other pubs have this same thing, but it is misleading as it ends up only applying to only a select few weak ass "cocktails" or something, instead of the stronger drinks like long island ice teas that I usually get. Those are also mixed drinks, but like I said, in the fine print it often varies.
